Looking to offer $750 if anyone is interested in selling a working one.
Is there away to dual boot? Or would I have to change hdd and roms everytime?$900 USD is fair market price for a working, complete KI1 these days. Demand for them has shot way up - especially since you can run both KI1 and K2 on the KI1 board while the KI2 board can only run KI2.
Btw I tried to negotiate with that guy you mentioned for the board. He initially wanted PayPal as preferred payment. I offered to cover fees as goods and services and give him what we agreed, now he replies that he may want to only sell locallyThere is a dual boot kit, although it doesn’t look straightforward to install. Long thread on it here:

AFAIK, the only way to run KI1 on a KI2 board is if you swap over the U96 protection chip from a KI1 board. Maybe you can find a dead one as a parts donor.

Well he wouldn't budge on my initial offers. After talking about it all day, I did manage to buy the board for $990 being converted from 900 euros from him. This included the paypal fee and me paying for shipping. I felt kinda bummed since I wanted to get it cheaper but then waiting around would possibly be hit or miss. But yes, he initially wanted paypal friends and family, but I don't go that route. I like to have piece of mind. Now, aside from the dual boot. To just boot KI2 on the KI1 board is just swapping of the roms? Or is there something else I need. I actually purchased a non-working KI2 board earlier this week for pretty cheap I think and I do get the roms and flash card. I am unsure if I should get that board repaired or attempt to sell it without the roms to recoup some of the costs for buying KI1.Ive seen people try to sell the board for $1700 on its own. Inanity. I think $750 is a more than fair offer at this point.
