'LCD init' stuck after upgrading to the new firmware

Hello everybody,

I'm working on a Multi CPS2 of a friend of mine.
First thing done: I put 'flash.img' on the root of the microSD, then powered on the CPS2. After some seconds, the console restarted and then I shut down the system.
Then I verified that the file was deleted from the microSD, and it was just like that.
I soldered the 4 wires to the Multi and attached the dupont to CN9 (rev7 B board).
I updated the Base Pack with the new one provided by Smoke.
I powered up the CPS2 and got 'LCD init' on the display and no sync at all at the monitor.

What's going on? Please could you help me?

You did the upgrade before soldering the wires?

Can I see how you attached your wires?

Yeah, first I did the upgrade, then I soldered the wires.

Could it be a brick?
Do I have to buy a STM32F0DISCOVERY?
Is it worth to try to reflash the bootloader?
Please could someone help me?

First thing I would do is a firmware update. Just copy the latest firmware to the directory \update of the microSD and see if that fixes it. MAKE SURE you use the latest version and remove the wires if you are unsure.

Ok thanks. So basically I'll use the same flash.img found here, right?
New CPS2 Multigame Firmware with Key Writing!!!!!!

But this time I put it on /update folder instead on the root of the microSD.
 
Ok, I tried with /update/flash.img and it seemed to fix the problem, but when I reconnect the wires everything becomes stuck again.
I rechecked a billion of time connections and they are ok.
What's going on?!?
 
SOLVED!

The trick was updating the firmware (in /update folder, not in root) with the wires connected, not disconnected!

Now it works flawlessly. :)
