Hello,
My buddy and I just got our Landing High Japan cabinet working, and found the original LCD monitor seems to have some intermittent issues.
The monitor briefly works when you first plug it in. Assumably the capacitance or something on the monitor itself seems to be failing as there's a brief TAITO image from the cabinet PCB, then it fades away.
Thankfully the backlight still functions normally.
We can still play the game without the LCD panel, but it's not the same.
When the panel did work briefly, it displays insturments crucial for operation of an airplane. (airspeed, horizon, insturments etc)

We're looking for a suitable replacement of this monitor.
If anybody has some parts from a dead cabinet, I'd be happy to pay for them and ship from where-ever.
I understand this is a rather oddball Taito cabinet, so hopefully somebody out there has parts from one that we could use to complete this wonderful game.

IF YOU KNOW OF A REPLACEMENT SOLUTION, please DM me with your parts lists so we can assemble or retrofit something in it's place.
Thanks for all your help AP.

what a beautiful machine
it's not common like cab
and these are machines that are still successful and are still being exploited
you say that at startup the monitor works briefly
It looks like a problem with the monitor power supply
saw a small card that looks like a power supply in one of your photos
maybe that's the problem

if you know someone who has access to taito tec
you can ask them if the part is available

Yes, We're planning on pulling the board and reworking it over to see if any capacitors are cooked on it. They're probably tired.
It IS a beautiful machine. I really love this game playing as the 747. It's super challenging!
We also have a Taito "Landing Gear" there too.

Pretty sweet looking cab.

The display itself is easily purchased. You can even upgrade the backlight on it to an led version.

The issue will be the power/video board. If that is the one with the issue you will need to look into repairing/replacing it. Try to first recap it and see if that solves issue.

GL with bro, hope to see it in full working action.
