Howdy y'all. So a while back, I bought a Locked N Loaded PCB. Fun game and all, but I recalled reading both on here and KLOV that early Locked N Loaded boards were converted from Dragon Gun since that game flopped. The giveaway is the Intel I750 chips on the bottom of the board and empty socketed areas for Dragon Gun. Mine appears to be one of those boards. I've been told converting it to Night Slashers is nigh impossible but I saw a thread detailing a similar conversion with another Locked N Loaded. I know Dragon Gun uses an OKI6285 processor for sound. I would keep this but the guns for this game never show up for sale and I don't know where I'd find the Suzo Happ converter. So my questions are:

1. Is it possible to convert this back to Dragon Gun?
2. If so, who would be able to do it since I'm not tech literate at all?
3. How would the controls fare, since (i think) Dragon Gun uses the mini Jamma edge for guns.

UPDATE: Doc Mack has since uploaded the Dragon Gun manual to Aurcade. VG Esoterica searched one of the chips on the board (the B9218), but we were able to identify the pinout without reverse engineering. Doc Mack mentioned being able to make molds for the guns as well, maybe in the future.

As for the conversion, indeed it was possible. I contacted @CoolFox from his original thread and shipped the board off to him. Many of the components had to be replaced, but the conversion came out exceptionally well. VGEsoterica will look into making converters for the gun inputs as well. Everybody say thank you CoolFox (and forgive my ratty ass Astro)

Hi.

Are there multiple version of the Locked 'n Loaded PCB?

If so would the hypothetical 'later' version be invalid for the Dragon Gun conversion?

Thank you.

Yes.
The only one that works would be early.
It must have the fmv chip.
Was looking at this last week myself.

Yes. Basically it had to be the larger ROM board that got factory converted from dragon gun.
It can be converted back.
I am looking for one myself, looks fun.

Agreed.

Dragon Gun screams "this is why stepping into an arcade in the '80s & '90s was stepping into a world all its own".

So it is on my list now.

Big data east fan.
Their catalogue is vastly unappreciated & still surprisingly affordable.
