Hey guys, so in my candy I have LS-56's with an octo-gate. I got TGM, and I've been playing it pretty much non-stop. Want to get the lever to be 4-way only. I found some on paradise arcade listed as a 4-way gate, but after installing it, it looks like at acts just like the existing 8-way gate, so i think it was not listed properly.

First, does anyone know of any LS-56 restrictor gate 3d models? I'm looking to print one, as I can't find it anywhere, and before I model it (as I'd have to learn) I figured I would see if anyone has, and avoid reinventing the wheel.

Any ideas?

It's weird, but there isn't an official 4-way restrictor for the LS-56.

However, you can use the one made for the LS-40.

That's the one you want. You also need two longer screws for it.

Are you looking for that white 4 way plastic plate?

Yes, but what you have pictured is the 8 way square gate.

Sweet! I'm definitely willing to give that a try, but are there any suppliers that can do individual seimitsu parts like that? I guess it might be easier and cheaper to buy a whole LS-40?

No idea if there are resellers that sell the parts alone.

LS-40 comes with one, as does the LS-55. So if you want to try out a new stick while you're at it, you could go for the whole stick.

Thanks, just ordered a LS-40, will probably just harvest the gates and screws to make a hybrid. Sorry, this turned out to be off topic from 3D models. Maybe I can model the two gates so others can do this.

You should give the LS-40 a try while you're at it.
It's by far my favorite, and everybody that I have convinced to try it has loved it as well.

Actually, the more I look at pics of the gate differences, the more I think a hybrid might not be possible, so I'll definitely start with the LS-40 itself and see how it feels for TGM.

If I was trying this I'd just take my LS-56 gate off, scan it, trace it in Illustrator (any vector program would work), then rotate the inside square 45° to be a 4 way, then extrude that to 3D print.

If you don't have a scanner some photos and measurements would get you there still, it's a really simple part.

Yeah I was thinking of going that route. Are any of the iOS 3D scanning apps worth trying?

The gates aren't interchangeable. Not sure why you'd want to swap them either, as they're both square. The restrictor makes it four way.

IMO the LS-40, while a fine stick, is too loose for TGM. Personally I use LS-38s (same as LS-32, but with a stiffer spring).
