Hi,
recently i bought a lupin the 3rd the shooting cabinet...
the game works, but not the guns...
when in the calibration process the red dot is keeping moving like crazy from side to side even if i'm not moving.
I thought it was a faulty wiring so i'm gonna make a new one (from the sensor inside the gun, to the i/o board)
there's a way i can have a wiring diagram of the guns?
Or does anyone had the same problem?
Could be a broken sensor? the i/o?
PLEASE HELP :(

look at the dip switches on the gun i/o board. On mine there is one for the Screen size 29/50 which basically inverty the horizontal axis. The other one was labeled HOD and something else. Having the dip switch in the HOD position, everything would work fine. If I flicked it to the other position, the dot in the calibration Screen would do the crazy dance.

the 29 <=>50 dip switch inverts the axis for the mirror cabs (mirror cabs were 29in, where as the Delux cabs were front view and 50in). on a NAOMI Universal cab this should be on the "50" setting for direct view; no inversion.

the other dip is JUL <=> HOD. which determines the number of LED sensors being used, JUrassic part the Lost world used 12 sensors and House Of the Dead 2 used 10 sensors.

again on a NAOMI universal this should be on the "HOD" setting for 10 sensors.

-----------------

After verifying the dips I would make sure all of the LED boards around the monitor are functioning, they're IR but they're slightly in the visible spectrum so if you look close you should see 2 faint red dots while they're on... check that you see both LEDs on each sensor working. This is the most common failure and can cause erratic tracking in both guns.

Honestly I would not recommend making a new wiring harness unless you've found actual damage to the original harness. before you do that you should just take a multi-meter and confirm continuity in the harness.

You sure the sensors / gun sensor isn't just filthy? I've had terrible calibration issues on some light guns and half the time it came down to sheer filth obscuring something.

Had a Total Vice shotgun I repaired, and the lens was just disgusting. Cleaning it set the calibration in line with what it should have been.

Obv this game uses diff tech, but I'd still check into the "cleanliness"

also how is the game? It's been on my list of wants for awhile now. Lightgun game + Lupin = yes please

well, quite disappointing... the game is short and pretty easy, no story mode and it looks like a compilation of various minigames taken from iconic episodes, also the game is ONLY localized in japanese, so you must set the naomi board on JP or the game won't load at all.
You can see it for yourself here:

ANYWAY i've updated this post just to let you know that i fixed the problem by making new guns wiring cables, now works perfectly :) (btw the calibration process is a pain in the a**)
Thanks to everyone <3
