I have no idea what is going on in this thread, but I have a conversation MW board from like 4 years ago, if anyone needs me to post pictures, just ask.

Idk what's going on either. Just saw the info was gone after a comment about how there should be more sharing.

So I reposted it.

And thanks for doing so, your post is great and I think covers all the major points.

I hate to see more real boards being killed off for a conversion, but this game IS much better...

I would say that, guys (gals?) just play on MAME, save an original! :P

Well, this conversion isn't as easy as it looks. Obtaining the extra sound custom can be expensive, and socketing all the masks is a pain. Also you have to get the resistor array and the new rams, change jumpers...This conversion in global costs is not fitting for earning money, I think. Martial Champion boards have gone up on money and I wouldn't pay for a conversion if it's so grown up.

Anyway, I made my conversion years ago thanks to the OP, so I must be thankful with him for his discovery. I can understand why he has deleted the info, so much people trying to steal others' job for earning money

I have 0 qualms about sacrificing Martial Champions.

Please feel free to treasure and covet yours.
I just played through the game with the one-eyed Brit. Oh man, what a bad game. It's so bad. Like as a bad fighting game, it's bad. I will not convert mine, but I do not begrudge you changing yours over. WTF was Konami doing with this one? Where were all the good pixel artists that day?

Here's some pictures to help you out per your request:

For anyone else, now when I do pictures of PCBs, I do pics of both sides and close-ups of each side as quads. I think this is the best way for the use of others, but if not, let me know team!

Out of curiosity, do you happen to know what value the resistor array is that has to be added?
Me? No, no idea. I had this made and the creator did an excellent job as far as the board goes, but I didn't ask him technical questions.

Can I answer your question by looking at it or getting better pictures?

I've never understood how resistor arrays are sold/labeled/etc, so probably not, ha. But not because you aren't helpful, more because I don't know what I'm looking at. I've only had to replace one once and I just had a parts board and pulled it.

there is a standard label scheme for resistor arrays, unfortunately a lot of resistor arrays on arcacde boards are actually custom arrangement of resistor and capacitors and don't have generic counterparts (and likewise also don't fit the naming convention)

@rewrite It's a A102J 5pin 1KOhm resistor array
Thank you so much!

That definitely explains why sometimes I can't figure out what I'm looking at, ha. Thanks!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but these are the required resistor arrays, right?

I wasn't sure because of the alternate naming scheme on the label (Chinese companies seem to do this a lot), but the units themselves have A102J on them.

Any thoughts?
