I ordered one of these memory cards from Aliexpress a few months back. Not sure what happened but decided to play some games and save them.
I had a couple of saves on the card so I popped in my 161:1 cart loaded up Mark of Wolves set my difficulty level and beat a few characters then tried to save. I get "memory card is not formatted" error. Attempting to format freezes the Neo Geo so I decided to put in my original cartridge to see if maybe this was a 161 and 1 issue. So I beat the first opponent in Fatal Fury 2 and go ahead save once again I get "memory card not formatted". I go ahead format and save no problem this time. So I pop in my 161 and 1 and load Mark of Wolves beat the first oppenent to test the save well no problem this time. Not sure why the memory card corrupted and maybe it had something to do with the 161 and 1. Maybe a known issue with 161 and 1 or fluke memory corruption issue. Running a MV1B.
Ok so everything is working now. I was having issues with some carts and Im tracing it down to dirty contacts. My cmvs is fairly new and unused. I have it under a dust cover and all my games are in protected cases so I guess the dirty contact gremlin was at it again.
