Yooooo! Humble nerd ass from Tallahassee FL looking to buy some cabinets and learn about them on here. I'm also big into retro games so you know I hit up Super Potato when I went to Japan last year. There is one true blue arcade in my city, but it's kind of small and on the other side of town, so I was thinking of starting my own cab collection funded by software engineer salary and invite people over to play them. Might be a business if I learn enough about it and want to do that.. or more likely, I'll sell off the cabs when I get bored of them.

Right now I'm focused on rhythm games. I was the GH god in high school ten years ago and now I'm 12.25 ptt in arcaea, less good at phigros and lanota. Right now I'm looking to get a chunithm cabinet, and eventually I'd like to branch out to (in order) groove coaster, wacca, maimai, jubeat, ongeki if I can get my hands on one. Definitely souping up that chunithm cabinet with a nanairo and ALLS PC when the former is back in stock too.

ALSO forgot to mention but wanted to put it here - I am working on my own mobile rhythm game. Doesn't seem to be exactly what this forum is for, so I might be throwing some stuff up on r/rhythmgames later in the year if it ever gets legs.

Welcome!

You're timing is perfect, check it out:

Although Ground Zero in the Carolina's is a lot closer for you, so you may want to check with them and buy a couple of cabs at once since shipping is usually the same for 2 cabs.
Yep, left a reply on that post right after making this one. And thanks for the Ground Zero suggestion - just shot them an email, and I'll get my wife to bug them on Facebook if they don't reply to that haha.

How dare you call FGP small! JK, they are good people. They do have a good amount of candies. If you have the time down west there is Point Break Arcade who has a LOT of rhythm games. Also farther south there is Largo Neon Dreams Arcade and the various Arcade Monsters around the state.

I want to be sure to continue patronizing them as I build up my own collection because Rob is so cool... and because the landlords there are not. Gotta play more of the candies instead of trying to up my player rating in Chuni when I go in there lol.

The only other arcade I've got to visit in Florida was the Arcade Monsters in Sarasota, definitely some gamers in there. I plan on hitting up Leaderboard when I visit Jax in August, and I might skip over to Foley from Pensacola to do Captain Crazy's. Shame I don't have much reason to get out to PCB anymore
