I have a good and a bad new..

1- Package arrived (wohooooooo!!!)
2- Package didn't arrive to me, but to customs (LMAO)

Shipping has been really quick nevertheless. Now I just need to wait that customs send me the pickup notice and then I need to go there and make all the paperwork (as usual with all the international shipments I get.

In paralell I have just ordered this from akishop:

I took a closer look at the custom PCB. I rreally think it's a wonderful idea, I wished all other fighstick sellers would do something like that.

I think I'm just going to use Duponts to connect the Cthlhu to the PCB pins, I think I will manage to make a clean build :)

And now.. wait continues.. :D

@hursit Could you please share the size of the plexy? (PSD template would be even better, but the size is enough) I'm going to prepare some artwork for it :)
 
Oh damnit, didn’t think of packages from Turkey going through customs...

@hursit did you have to declare a value of the package while shipping?
 
I think the only reason why Germany is rich is because they stop all packages addressed to me... :)

here they don't really care about the "Gift" declaration.. if for example your dad living in russia sends you an iPhone for your birthday, you HAVE to pay taxes if you want customs to release the package.

Same here, commercial goods are tax free up to €20 and gift is tax free up to €45

Above that it is 21% tax + €13 administration fees :(
 
European Socialism at work everyone, when you can afford to pay you pay more that what you get back.
EU never needed Soviet Russia to invade, it happened from within. :P

so after one week at customs,I was able to finally pick up the two sticks. My first impressions:

1- Customer service: impressive!!', @hursit is extremely communicative, he was asking almost every day if the package made out of customs, sent me the invoice requested by customs very quick, and has been extremely helpful. There has been a little mistake with the shipping (one plastic has logo on it) but he has promised to solve it. The guy puts really a lot of love on what he does! 10/10

2- Packing: Very well packed, lot of bubble wrap around it, package took some hits, but the content was perfectly kept. The only thing that can be improved is to use a bigger box for the cases where two sticks are sent.

3- Case: looks and feels very sturdy, weight is perfect, it's not as big as (for example) a TE2 (see picture) but is comparable to other commercial figtsticks (I will make a photo comparison later on). Case has an industrial kind of look and feel (which I like). One thing that could be improved is to use bigger feet.. (matter of taste I guess)

4- Paint: I wasn't able to find any chips or cracks. It has a very industrial / rough look. I mean it's not piano look paint (if you know what I mean) but it's a fight stick supposed to be used and abused, so it fits with the concept.

5- Plexy: actually is not plexy but PVC plastic, it's transparent but not as much as plexy or perspex, it has a nice matte look. @hursit has mentioned that he's considering switching to plexy, but I really like it like this. It's a matter of taste I guess, but this feels better to the touch (is not that mirror flat) and looks like it can take more abuse. Let's see how it looks like when art is placed.

6- Price: there's nothing comparable in the market for this price (metal, modular, with neutrix connector..) the comparable options cost more than the double (empty). And this comes with controls (China, but ok), a PS3 PCB and a modular custom made PCB to help with the wiring, neutrix USB connector, USB cables...

I still haven't used it or opened it.. So that's everything I can say for now :)

Can you make something like this on the picture but where you see the arrows on the top to put another 4 100mm sanwa push domes for a total of 8? for Project Diva future tone PS4.

Found this over at Paradise Arcade Shop. This might fit into hursit's fightstick perfectly. If this idea is adopted in the next iteration, perhaps there is no need to redesign the PCB. He can make a breakout adapter like this for those of use that want to use pad hacks and MC Cthulhu's.

the connector for the PS3/PC China PCB is 22pin, so that is already a mismatch.
The other connection on the PCB for the Brooks UFB is 20p, but that is a female connection, same as the PCB you link to, so would need some way to interconnect them...

Easiest would be to get the matching 20p or 22p connector and wire it directly to a MC Cthulhu or whatever pad hack you would want.
Something like this, and just cut off 1 end;

An additional breakout board sounds a bit overcomplicated, the easiest /cleanest is to build a cable between the Cthlhu and the PCB as PascalP mentions.

Actually I find pretty annoying that the Cthlhu implements screw terminals, would have been much cleaner and more compact if they would have implemented IDC connectors or pins (like the 20 pins in the Brook fightboard)
 
Well the MC Cthulhu has direct connections you can use instead of the screw terminals;

So take one of those cables I showed above, cut off one end, solder that to the connections on the MC Cthulhu and plug the other end in the Fight Stick PCB :D

then again, you would still need to wire a RJ45 connector to the other end of the MC Cthulhu, so a bit more work involved still...
 
@deibit Mainly, MC Cthulu was at the forefront of the stick modding scene. No one was releasing as polished a solution when he came on the scene, and he had no idea how far the scene would go. The screw terminals were done with the layman in line, not someone who had experience crimping and setting their own pins into a connector. It was the best solution at the time, and since I own 6, im gonna stand behind that.

Now, sticks have evolved, and a Cthulu redesign would be cool...but paradise arcade still sells out, almost the moment they get em into stock...so where's the financial motivation to redesign something that ain't broke.

I'm picking up a pair of these sticks, so I will try to take some pics soon. One is getting my PS360, and the other will be getting a cthulu, most likely.
