Hello everyone!

I recently acquired a Capcom Mini Cute and have been in the process of restoring it as best I can. I had a few questions about the coin mechanism.

- Does anyone have any pictures of an original coin mech assembly?
- If a 50 yen and a 100 yen coin get rejected, is there an issue with the assembly somewhere? I double checked and if I hit the bottom metal clip coins get successfully added to the coin counter and the game will register it, however whenever I try to put coins through it they go directly to the reject slot.
- Is there a way to get American coins to register? In the past I've heard of a piece that can go into the coin mech that will allow all coins to function, could someone point me into the direction of what that is and how it works?

Also worth noting is that prior to me picking up this cab, it was in Mexico. Not sure if they messed with the coin mech somehow (they probably did) but I did not see any issues upon initial inspection. Coin mechs are a new tech to me though so I don't really know what to look for when it comes to issues like this.

Let me know if you have any info, thanks!

I'd assume it just used a standard Asahi coin mech, they can be a bit fiddly to get working with any specific coin since you actually have to bend pieces inside of it.

If it's not going into a commercial space then I'd just recommend putting in an Any coin mech, basically just acts as a pass through so anything that fits in the coin slot will work. https://www.arcadeplastics.com/any-coin-mech.

I just put all AD-81p coin mechs into my machines. I think the trick is that all the coins need to be roughly the same size (100 yen in my case). Also you need to remove the magnet from the mechs for it to pass through

Ah I just opened it up and removed the coin mech, it is an AD-81P coin mechanism! It looks like a real pain to adjust as well, at least based on that link you sent me. lol

For this any coin mech, would I just get the Any Coin 3.2 Listing? I do see the nubs where it can attach, I just wanna make sure I buy the right one.

That's the one, the come disassembled. Snap the two halves together and put the pins in the right slots to mount it in your machine.

Thanks for the help! Got it working today, it worked flawlessly. I essentially converted the Mini Cute into a penny arcade, quarters unfortunately don't fit in the Mini Cutes coin slot.
