I definitely wouldn't recommend it in a tournament setting unless you have a predefined setup that is all pre configured and users have to use the sticks plugged in.

I've tried replicating a tournament setting at home and I personally found it to be a dog's breakfast, in my opinion, it's 100% not tournament friendly
I stick to undamned decoders as much as I can, but 2 UD decoders and a separate IO board is a lot compared to a single PCB like this. It's unfortunate. I am holding out hope that the device continues to develop, and then I'll get out the ones I purchased and revisit it. But for now, they sit in a box.

Okay yeah, good to know I was right to keep my setup at home. Unfortunately undamned decoders are completely sold out everywhere and both the man himself and paradise arcade are unresponsive on if/when they will be back in stock. I purchased two of the USB2DB15 adapters but they're still in production with absolutely zero timeline of when they will be completed, and updates are slow enough that I've basically written that money off at this point.

I saw in the firmware update instructions a bunch of stuff about how you have to temporarily short two pair of through-holes to treat the JVS port as a USB port. So, I soldered on headers, starting plugging things in, and... then realized none of that is necessary. Buried halfway through the instructions:

Alternatively, you can use a special USB cable from Type A to A. You can connect your PC and 1P connector by such cable with pressing SERVICE to enter the firmware update mode. You should not connect power supply and don’t need jumpers.
WTF! That's so much easier. My PC also has a USB C port, so I just turned my A-to-C power cable around. It worked great. Why is this buried so deep in the instructions??

In a future revision, I'd love to see the complex config flow chart discarded in favor of plug-and-play (zapper mode > mapping axes!), hotkeys, or a web GUI (presumably needs a v3 HW rev).

Probably because A->A cables are dangerous when used incorrectly, and also it's not guaranteed to work on all USB controllers. I had to try three before I found one that worked.

Has anyone seen the issue where upgrading from 1.47->2.00 makes the service button stop working in game?

I am trying to troubleshoot a Namco System N2 (WMMT3) and 1.47 works fine, but I can't figure out how to configure the analog controls correctly.

2.00 has a nice web interface (configured it very quickly) - but I can't get into the WMMT3 menu and configure the analog sticks (bounds) because the service button refuses to work.

I've got a fairly large batch of these lined up for the store, so if anyone is interested in one, please send me a PM for more information.

Takashi quickly figured out this issue and will be pushing the fix in a new firmware this weekend.
