MS8 Astro City monitor colour missing

The blue or green colour started to be missing yesterday for my monitor. I haven't this happen before for this monitor. It seems to come in and out. Could it be a cold solder join on the pots for the colours? Where should I start looking?

Should be easy to start looking at the neckboard. Get some good lighting and look at the neckboard for any obvious cracked joints. You can do this without removing the chassis or monitor.

If you don't see any, then you will have to take the chassis out and inspect that.

I can try to use my backup neckboard. I'll inspect that first as well. Maybe reflow solder.

You have just a backup neckboard? Swapping them requires some work, at that point you kind of have the whole chassis out.

Ah oops, I thought you were referring to the controller thing in the panel. You mean the board that's connected to the back of the tube? The electron gun thing?

yea, you can easily see it and the solder joints through the rear access door.

I went and resoldered 40% of the joints on the neck board. So far seems okay. Hopefully that fixed it. I also reflowed solder to the colour pots.
