MVS joypad port pinout

Can someone with experience with/access to multiple board types confirm if the boards that have joypad ports:

Have OUT1-OUT3 wired to the joypad ports:

Can confirm pins 7, 14 and 15 on both joypad ports are connected to NEO-D0 on a MV2FS. There's a hex inverter (LS06) and 22 ohm resistors in between.

1P has OUT1, OUT2 and OUT3.

2P OUT4, OUT5 and OUT6.

What are OUT1-OUT3 for?

What are OUT1-OUT3 for?

In short, they are output ports. Used by the FCT1B board to multiplex controllers or by the Mahjong controller to multiplex buttons. On MVS MV1B and MV1C they are on a separate connector, which is not available on other boards. It would be useful to know if the joypad ports can be used instead.
