My CPS1 conversions info

Hi,

I would like to ask for help to make a Forgotten Worlds conversion with Joystick controls.
Since I was offered a batch of convert ready cps1 hardware I would like to know which board works for making a Forgotten Worlds con and what Romset I need.

Apocalypse made a rom hack for Forgotten Worlds, that uses normal joystick/button controls. I'm not sure if I have it archived or if he considered that one free, and sadly I think he's on hiatus. But it's out there.

Do you know if I need to take a specific CPS1 board, or does any board work?

That hack required paying Apocalypse for the roms, it likely cannot be found on the internet
 
Hope it’s ok to ask this here, but would anyone know if it’s possible to change the language from Japanese to English on a Japanese SF2CE CPS1 board?

After defeating an opponent, the cut scenes are in Japanese, would be cool if could swap to English!

Change via extensive ROM hacking/editing? Yes, its a ton of work but totally possible.
Change via USA conversion? Yes, you'll need to burn the USA set and install it (all versions of CE should use B21 C-board).
Change via something super easy, like flipping a DIP switch? No.

Understood! Thank you. How about swapping some Rom chips flashed with the USA version? I have an eeprom flasher. Apologies as no doubt answered elsewhere. 😬🙌

I'd assume you only need to change the program roms too.
