The other day I went to turn on the CPS2 multi and I found it to have no sound.

PROBLEMS:
1. No Sound
2. Sometimes after I flash a game, when it boots it gets stuck on the CPS OK, RAM OK, Q Sound OK screen (actually it hangs when it gets to Q-Sound and does not post OK)

TRIED:
1. Reseating A+B boards.
2. Reseating Darksoft Multi
3. resetting sound with volume buttons
4. Changed to another A-board still same problems.
5. USING both diagnostic ROMS which both PASS

I do not have another b-board to try the multi on.
every now and then when u boot it will have haunting weird sounds. or a loud SCREECH as it boots.
Voltage is at 4.82 / 12.0 which is normal when I used it before.

Any suggestions? Thanks everyone! <3

Bump your 5v up to 5v. 4.82 is well low and known to have caused issues before.

Also try another reputable SD card.

Try to reseat the interconnect board and also try using a decrypted set to rule that out.

My money is on the voltage being too low (also test it with a multimeter and don’t rely on a voltmeter).

-Voltage did not change the situation

-Decrypted set loads but no sound

- When loading Street Fighter Alpha 3, the DEMO will not go past the screen " BORN TO FIGHT" :: I can load and play the game but no sound.

- USED SanDisk 8gb and Kingston 8gb

Are you routing sound out of the CPS-2 over JAMMA or RCA. Whatever it is, try the other. Also make sure your sound settings are correct in the menu.

I’m assuming other games work on your setup?

What revision of the multi is it and where and when did you purchase?

Did you find the cause?
This is exactly the same as my multi kits issue, and I feel it's the sn74lvc4245 chips failing to blame.
