Hey! I accidentally turned the wrong knob while trying to change the brightness on my monitor. I think it's a Hantarex MTC9000. Now it won't stop scrolling and the best I can get it is in the pic. it scrolls really slowly but then picks ups speed and starts scrolling really fast again. I can't get it to sync and stop going like crazy. Does anyone know how to fix this?

you might have changed the "v.hold" knob try to find it and change where the scrolling stops.

I have tried all the knobs. I can get it to almost stop but never fully. it picks up speed after a while and starts scrolling a lot again.

Adjust the v-hold until it's scrolling as slow as you can get it, then do the same with the H-hold
if one of those two knobs seems to have no effect then it's possible the pot is damaged

it's also possible that you actually caused the problem somewhere else. for instance if the sync pin of your harness/jamma connector is making poor contact or if the sync pin on the video connector to the monitor has a cracked solder joint.

I've seen this issue occur due to all of the above issues.

Is v-hold the same as v-shift?

no v-shift is completely different.

v-hold = adjusting the signal for it to stop scrolling in the vertical direction
v-shift = adjusting the vertical position of the image on the screen.

it looks like the labels are kind of non-standard.
normally it's V-POS (for Vertical Position) rather than V-Shift. So perhaps the V-Freq is their equivalent title for V-Hold?

have you tried other PCBs on this monitor? is the result the same?

I think your sync signal isn't making it from the PCB to the monitor...
You were correct. THANK YOU GUYS SO MUCH FOR ALL THE HELP! I love when communities like these actually want to teach beginners how to do stuff. It was one of the wires. It was broken!!!

Now i just have to switch the image so it isnt upside down. Do i have to discharge it before i unplug the cable?

God i’m so happy right now!
