Namco 256 Test mode indicating battery is dead.

Hi,
i have a namco 256 and the game settings are not saved.
The message is showed in test mode with cobra the arcade.
Battery has been changed to a new one.
Tryed with other games, games settings are not saved.
I have changed also the supercap close to the battery .
Any ideas ?

Check the components between the memory and the battery? The battery will not be powering anything else on the board.
