Still trying to work out some kinks with my Cyberlead in regards to getting it to work with Jamma without rewiring. I have the original Cyberlead I/O in the cabinet usually running directly to my Namoi system. Works fine there. I got a jamma to JVS adapter in hopes of using a Mistercade in the cabinet once it arrives. I got the adapter today (not an original as I couldn't find one, one from Auxunworksj) and the video and sound work perfectly. Good image and sound is good, however I can't get any controls to work. Not even the service buttons on the adapter itself.

Has anybody else had some success with these? I am still keeping an eye out for an original Namco adapter, but in the meantime would be great if I can get one these working. I did notice some dip switches on the Cyberlead I/O but couldn't find any documentation on them.

For the record I have an email out to Auxunworks, but thought I might ask here as there are a lot of people with Cyberlead experience here it seems.

I am wondering if the IO is not getting power. I am using an ATX power supply for the Naomi but I am wondering if the jamma to jvs isn’t passing the power through to the IO. Anybody know what power the IO takes and where it goes in?

If the Naomi is working fine then I’m assuming the IO is working as well - if you have button and joystick control.

Power should be the red and white wires connector on the right side of the IO in your picture. I have a CL as well but haven’t tried it in that config. I have the adaptor - but others go for the JAMMAfier

Yeah the Naomi works fine along with the dmd at the top. So I would assume the IO is working. Sigh. :)

Do you have the extra buttons harness wired up and connected properly? I guess so if the Naomi works.

All six buttons work on the Naomi if that is what you mean, yeah. I have tried everything I can think of, different USB cables, going directly from the IO to the converter and bypassing the board at the back of the machine. I guess I have to hope the seller responds with some ideas. I have had some bad luck between this and not getting the CF reader to work either on the Naomi :) At least I have Powerstone and CvS1 carts I can use in the meantime.

Is the V.MINI cable on the IO board plugged in to anything on the other end?

Best of luck. You’ll get to the bottom of it. Doesn’t sound dire. You just need a few more bits and pieces so you can do some more testing to identify the problem.

The vendor has already responded to me and said he is going to get a Namco I/O and do some testing. If it is a faulty converter, he said he would replace it. Either way, I hope it can get worked out as I really don't want to convert the cabinet to Jamma. I appreciate the response here, thank you!

At the risk of making a silly suggestion, are these things wired for "ChAMMA"? Could that be the issue?

I ran into a similar problem using a Xbox 360 to "JAMMA" interface in the past... controls didn't work, was introduced to "ChAMMA". Had to make a fingerboard to adapt the controls and ground pin 27/28/e/f or I didn't get working inputs.

You mean the jamma boards or the adapter? I can’t imagine the adapter being that way as this supplier makes a lot of different jvs/jamma stuff.

These switches make me think it can go back and forth between CHAMMA and JAMMA, but maybe I am misinterpreting their function.

I couldn't find a manual but I also didn't look super hard. Can you flip those switches such that B4-6 don't get sent through JAMMA, and try again? When in that configuration, can you probe pin 27/28/e/f and see if they're grounded?

Looking at the official converter, it definitely expects those pins to be ground.
