Namco recoil flyback diode

Anyone know of a good replacement for the flyback diode on namco recoil guns?
Some of the ones I have at the moment are showing a short, but they have no markings to tell me what they're supposed to be.

they need to be fast and handle decent current.
i dont have any guns or internal pics, but if you can fit a large diode then try UF5408
if it's too big then use a UF4008

both are very fast, and handle 1000v
the 5408 is a 3A device and the 4008 is a 1A part
