Hacky proof-of-concept multi:

A game converted to Gamshara:

Details for how to do it are at:

But the TL;DR is unsurprisingly "just ask AI to do it".
Works great.

As someone whose only interaction with AI is with Gemini on random Google searches, that prompt is insane. Jesus.

As long as you describe inputs sufficiently, AIs can figure out the rest themselves nowadays.

Point it to mame and it will find the relevant driver, and take it from there. Claude code will also take screenshots of the process and whatnot.

Its scary how good modern models are.

It will happily run mame and sens you screenshots as well. Even when driving it from your phone. Things have gotten weeeeeird.

Could someone with knowledge of the Hardware clue me in, is this not "as" wild as it seems or do i have to strike "just a Stochastic parrot" from my Vocabulary?

@buffi are you planning to develop this to a full multi?

Very cool!

So essentially you're reencryping the games for an alternate security chip and then bank switching or just swapping ROMs. For a proper multi we'd need to reverse engineer the security chip into a new device that could live on the multi or find a way to allow the games to run without it at all.

AI has definitely come a long way in currently experimenting with having to design an adapter PCB. It can actually use kicad to do the work.

Great work! Hope there is interest in pursuing this project. I'd like to try Gamshara one of these days.
