Alright experts, got a very troublesome Astro City MS8 on my hands. Previously this monitor had a bad chassis that would flicker and do weird things, leading me to think it had something wrong with the sync circuit. This is my friend's cab, and he got it from yaton, so he just had him send a replacement chassis.
I'm here now and replaced the chassis, only to now have a new problem. After about 1 minute, the screen begins shrinking and going funky, before fully collapsing (mostly vertically, but there's some horizontal collapse as well I think).

Since it takes time, I'm kind of thinking caps. But I had it on for several minutes at a dark color bars screen calibrating, and that was fine. It was only when more of the screen had bright colors that it went into collapse and subsequent shutdown. So maybe something with the high voltage? Flyback? I'm a bit out of my element at this stage of troubleshooting.
