Really stupid thing, but double-check that attract sounds haven't been disabled in the system test menu. You won't get a start jingle if that's been disabled.
Naomi 1 no video or audio, schematics would be very helpful...

It is a really stupid thing, but it was the right answer. It has been fully repaired now. Thanks for everyone's help.
Now on to my next disaster, a guy gave me a box full of a Chihiro in pieces. Said, we tried to get this to work but couldn't. Guess, I'll start a new repair thread for that one.
