Naomi 2, non functional Altera chip gets SUPER HOT!

Hello Everyone,

I was recently given a naomi 2 with a route 66 cart. I was able to get a connector from mitsurugi for atx power. I get no image at all and both fans are running and everything seems normal except I noticed the Alter flex chip becomes VERY hot. Don't see anything after looking the board over outside of that. Would This be the cause of the naomi2 not booting? the bad Altera Flex?
 
Yes and I have seen it do that. IIRC there is nothing on the altera chip as the config is supplied by the chip next to it, so replace it with another chip.
 
I read some similar posts about the altera chip being blank and pulling its data from the smaller slave chip. Does it have to be the exact same chip. I noticed some end in 160-3, 160-4,160-5 for the alter chips. 160-3 doesn't seem to be available anywhere. Does anyone know what flex chip versions will work?
 
the -3, -4, -5 is the speed of the chip. I can't say for sure the slower ones will work or not.
 
The stock one is -3 and I was able to find one for about 25 bucks shipped. Cheapest I could find, but at least it's a full match.
