The mask roms have been replaced with eproms. MX (short for Macronix) on top of the chip is a tell tale sign, as is the jumper wires for power (original roms use 5V, eproms 3V).

Not all NAOMI carts with the MX chips are boots though right?
I'm looking over a few of my carts and Power Stones, Marvel vs Capcom 2 have carts with MX chips on there

I've noticed after seeing your post there are a couple of carts I have that are definitely boots like my Virtua NBA and Virtua Striker Ver 2000

Appreciate the info
I wish I knew this before when I was getting into NAOMI
Would have avoided a couple of bootleg carts
At least they weren't terribly expensive
