NAOMI PSEUDO-DEVELOP BIOS

Interesting, what can you actually do with it? I have never saw one of these or read about someone tryed. Whats the purpose of the dev bios?

games can detect it and enable debug features such as no colision detection.

not tried,
maybe put the bios in an emulator a try them all.
(if your pc is fast enough - mine isnt)

@whatnot @stj if you interested to know if dev-box bios have an effect in some specific game(s) - I can check.

but results might be not as you expecting :) number of games (for example Capcom games) will just die with "Warning!! This BOOT ROM is not regular ROM!" message.

also, in such case SDK code will configure Cart/DIMM access timings registers in a different way, so even if game will run there might unexpected side effects.

I just made this as a curiousity to see if anyone was interested in testing things with it. End users will have no interest in using this, it may in fact be counterproductive as this most likely drastically decreases compatibility with existing games.

i wouldnt run a debug bios,
chances are if a game does still have debug code in it, the first thing it will probably do is run something like GDB and try to make a remote connection over ethernet or a serial port.
