I bought this cabinet maybe 10 years ago at this point. I didn't have a place to put it, so I fully disassembled it (with the intention of eventually cutting the legs to make it a sit down) and now I think I might finally do something with it.

First, pics.

Before disassembly when I first got it:

And some close ups after disassembly:

Few more pics, hit the limit:

Part of the reason for posting this is just to document it again, but I'd also like to take some pictures once it's cleaned up and back together.

I do think I'm still going to chop the legs, though I'm hesitating since it's a weird R&D prototype. Anyone wanna trade for a real uni? :)

In the mean time I've got a repro control panel on order and I've got some space to clear for its potential new home in the attic arcade.

Here's a close up of the JVS I/O and whatever this daughterboard is.

The I/O has part number 837-13551 with a R&D #4 No. 6 sticker and the eeprom label I can't really make out. The little daughter board is 839-1087. I assume it's for analog inputs based on the 26 pin connector. It attaches to the 13 pin connector on the I/O.

Curious about what tube/chassis combo it has. Any info on that?

Wild seeing all the parts made out of fiber glass.

I took some quick pics, luckily it seems like it's a normal Nanao MS-2931

It's pretty cool from a "this is pretty unique" standpoint, but functionally it sucks. The monitor bezel and fronts piece are all one piece, so you can't rotate the monitor. The control panel is mostly fine but the fit is pretty bad especially around the coin slots, so it just feels cheap. It's an official knock off.

This daughterboard is for the trackball. I'll be happy to buy it from you if trackball games are not your thing!

Are you sure? The trackball board is 837-13938, and has a JVS (USB) connection to chain with a normal I/O.

It's for the analog inputs just like notsonic suspected.

For posterity's sake, here's how the I/O board reports itself in the Naomi test menu. It's name is just Sega, but it's otherwise pretty much the same as a normal 837-13551-92 board.

Also in my big box of wires for the Uni, I found these analog harnesses for P1 and P2. Any idea what controls they're for? It's the 8 pin amp connector to a 7 pin JST H, with vcc, gnd, and 2 axes.
