NBA Jam to TE

Also that chip is the main problem with the midway pcb's
The battery leaks onto it and corrodes the socket & chip.
It would be nice to get them all dumped, but they are locked and nobody has the reader / programmer setup.

All the other common faults on this pcb are 'easy' apart from sometimes V ram stuff...

Still got the issue of programming and finding blank chips if they can't be re-written...

The bootleggers back in the day seem to have no problem with burning them but the equipment and knowledge is lost to time.
I think @CoolFox found some burning equipment but was missing an interface card for the computer side.

The Altera ISA LP6 card? I have it now.
 
Sweet! not sure on your device list, Altera only - or TMS, Actel etc also?

Anyways, there's plenty of stuff in the junk room of all 3 brands if you want any for testing/dumping etc

PS: Jaw dropped when seen that silkroad stripped of PLD's, Nice job dumping them. hope you got it back together working.
 
So... This is old, and I would like to know if the conversion from Regular NBA Jam to TE is any easier now?

I have, but my work arrived too late, the UMK3/MK+ games are not built from source, it would have helped if the source for those games was leaked earlier.
Right now the setup being used is insane, the dev(s) have a very detailled build pipeline all built from scratch with no source and basically can do things like "ah, a Jump to $1234, they're moving a sprite" from just looking at code.

My main issue is free time, i lack it a lot. At least i got this cracked and shipped, but Hangtime+, WWF+.. JamTE+ i have too much on the 'to do list' and too little free time to test stuff and get it released. My JamTE port to Wolf unit hardware sort of shipped, but nobody tested it and reported back. I thought ppl would love it.

Sorry, i don't do tutorials, but you'll need eproms, an eraser (UV) and a writer. Google is your friend.

That's correct, this will turn your normal NBA Jam into Rewind (which is based on Nba Jam TE). You'll need to update all the sound board roms too.

The last person in that topic must have done something wrong, or used wrong roms etc.
(If you have a TE board, don't use my hacked rom, just use the original Rewind set.)

So, I bought this NBA Jam board thinking it was fully stock and the original game, but someone definitely modified something.

When I play as the Magic w/ Shaq the announcer keeps calling him Raiden, and i have the GET THAT *** out of here! sound fx. this is the first time i've been able ot play the board and i've had it for a few months, but i have no idea what was changed. Jordan isn't on here thats for sure. Any possible ideas?

Wrong roms on the soundboard perhaps?
