This is sold; original post below

Up for sale is an NEC XP-37 (XP3790) professional monitor with original, working remote. $2000 OBO, do not ask I WILL NOT SHIP this is pick up only. Bring a friend it's heavy as shit.

Picked this up back in 2019 from @Bad_Hambre so he can definitely vouch for the overall condition and performance.

Audio/V Def, H Def, HV/Focus, Chopper Reg, and Neckboard have been recapped. Power Supply and Video I/O boards have not been recapped because getting to them is a pain in the ass.

When I got it originally, it had an issue where it would often make a horrible screeching sound when it would get hot. I figured out it was the horizontal choke transformer on the H Def PCB, so I desoldered it, got some MG Chemicals 4226A clear transformer varnish, and used a syringe to inject some down into the core as well as brushed some over the ferrite and let it cure. Also put two wood shims between the bobbin/windings and the ferrite and it is dead silent now. I've had 4+ hour sessions on it with no issue afterwards.

Pics do not do it justice (I cannot get my phone or my wife's phone to take a decent picture); it could use calibration but the pic out the box is great. Convergence is perfect and geometry is great.

Man, I bet. I shipped the 29" version, and just crating it was a huge pain in the ass. I can only imagine how much heavier this one is. It probably wouldn't fit in the crate I used.

I did get it safely from California to New York, but honestly F that, if it hadn't been a favor for a (very ex) friend I would have insisted on a local sale too.

Yeah, I wanna say it's north of 250lbs. It's not just that it's heavy, but bulky, too. Just getting it into the car and unloaded at home was a nightmare. I'm not in my 20s (or 30s) anymore and I've decided I'm not keeping any CRTs around that I can't carry on my own (so 27" and under).

Hi there, are you in Portland?
Portland metro, yeah, to the west. It's just easier to say Portland because nobody outside of the area knows towns out here.

I am not shipping it. Full stop. Too much risk for damage and I'm not going to deal with all that hassle. Find someone local to buy it and you can work something out with them, but I'm not taking on that liability.

XP3790 is XP-37 Plus. It does take 31k input; I've used it with a Dreamcast and RGC 480p SCART cable and the picture is phenomenal.

Yup can vouch for Benime and the monitor.

This monitor is a dream and regret letting go of it. Truly an ultimate all in one monitor for all your gaming needs. Covers everything from NES to anything that supports the resolution. Everything you throw at it will look fantastic. I helped him load it up on his car and we were able to get it between the two of us.

Damn... This is the ONE CRT monitor I am looking for since a very long time already. To bad you are not willing to ship the beast :( (of course I can understand why).
It looks absolutely beautiful (fucking good geometry too for such a big tube). I would do a LOT to get one :D
I would sitting in my car right now to pick it up, if I would be on the same continent.
