Hey everyone,

I’m looking for some help with my original Konami Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles arcade PCB. The board powers up, but I’m having issues that I can’t track down.

So far:

  • No visible damaged traces or burnt components.
  • Board looks clean and all connectors and sockets are intact.
  • I’ve checked for broken solder joints and loose sockets — everything looks solid.

Before I start swapping chips, I’d like to get advice on common failure points or recommended troubleshooting steps for this board (custom ICs, SRAMs, ROM areas, etc.).

If anyone has experience diagnosing TMNT boards — particularly where symptoms may not show obvious damage — I’d appreciate your guidance.

Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions!

I compared the 5 socketed roms (963-R21,22,23,24 and the audio rom on (https://arcadefraidi.rf.gd/tools/arcaderomidentification/?i=1) those seem to be ok. I’d have to remove the game roms and test but unfortunately I’m out of 27C400.

According to your video, it's reporting that the 64Kb SRAM's are bad at G27, G28 and G8. You could try piggybacking them or use a logic probe to see if they've failed.

The 052109 QFP SMD custom IC talks directly to G27 and G28 I believe, so that could have some loose pins or might have failed.

I’ll have to probe those. Unfortunately I don’t have any ram replacements at the moment. I’ll look at the schematics. I couldn’t make out what errors. Thanks for the advice.
