Net DImm: No battery installed, is this a issue?

Finally getting around to getting my Naomi Naochitri. Got the Naomi to work with a cartridges and a stable power supply. Capcom IO using jamma, and Naomi mobo using a ATX powers supply. I cannot tell what Bios is on the mobo and the eeprom 21576h I got from ebay {no sticker on the window} did not work. SO that issue trying to resolve.

My net dimm apparently came with no battery. Will this be an issue, I seem to find then answer to be yes with longer load times.

I figure since I will need to wait for a newer netboot supporting Bios, I may need to find a battery solution.

I think it will be an issue in regards to load times, but from what I saw you can actually make your own(or possibly ask one of the forum members to support ya).

The battery does reduce some of the reboots/checks - but if you take the WiPi route you can bypass all of them.
Not sure if the Naochitri could be persuaded to set the checkon/off flags like the above solution...

The battery only helps if you're booting the same game repeatedly. It keeps the game stored in the RAM.

If you're swapping games often, then it doesn't really matter. The memory check bypass in the WiPi Netbooter is a bigger time saver.

Thanks for all the help. Not sure what the Naochitri fully does. At the time when I got it Raspberry pi 4 were hard to locate.
