I’ve only owned Astro Cities and Aero Cities aka low Rez monitors. These cabs are built like tanks. I’ve been thinking about getting a hi rez cabinet for once. From what I know is that the Blast City monitors have major issues and I want to stay away from them.

But what about the New Net City? Are New Net City monitors reliable like the Astro City and the Aero City?

I’m always hesitant about tri-sync monitors because they’re hard or unable to fix when they go wrong especially the Blast City. I just keep hearing nightmare stories about the Blast City.

But I don’t know how good the New Net City is. I heard some good things but want more feed back.

Also I’m mainly a head to head fighting game guy who likes linking cabinets. What’s the way to link two New Net Cities together? I heard the cab comes with a splitter inside? Or do you have to buy that separately?

Thanks I’m advanced:)

New net city are pretty indestructible flat tri sync.
They're heavy though, and the pcb storage area is small, however if you remove the coin box that helps.
You may need to source the link board if it isn't in there.
They are jvs, but the chassis has a connector for rgb jamma you can add on.

Thank you everyone for the replies.

So right now I run MVC2 and CVS2 (2 in 1 cart) on my Astro Cities. But of course you know for an Astro City, you need a sun power supply and a I/O to run Naomi MVC2 and CVS2. I currently (always have been using) a Capcom I/O. Which I’m currently finding out has one frame lag.

What I want to know is that if I run a Naomi on a head to head New Net City I’m thinking that there will be no need for an I/O and a extra sun power supply. All that is needed is a Naomi motherboard and everything just plugs directly into there for the smoothest no lag gameplay.

That’s my theory with the New Net City lol.

Superb cab

But to be used preferably with naomi type systems /246/256/etc

The power supply does not support the jamma pcb which consumes a lot of 5V

Some series have a more powerful power supply that partially solves the problem

Chassis is nowhere as reliable as the MS9 but not a completely unreliable and suicidal mess like the MS2930/31 in the blasts. Still good enough that I would go for it but consider keeping a spare chassis or two on hand for the pair.

It outputs 10A. By comparison the stock Astro City PSU outputs 7A.

+1 for the New Net City. I use a Jammafier and RetroScaler A1 from @invzim at Irken Labs to adapt JVS to JAMMA and upscale everything to display at 31khz. Tube and chassis have been extremely reliable.

Out of interest, why do you upscale everything to 31khz on a trisync monitor? Just ease of use?

I know it's not technically necessary, but I already had the Retro Scaler purchased for another use in the past, and I think everything just looks a little sharper and nicer with it.

New Net City is the best cab imo.

Best tri synch monitor, and the most reliable of them.

Quite a common monitor, so easy to find spare chassis. Power supply and audio amp as well thanks to Net City and NUC identical parts.

Power supply is replaceable by a 15A if needed.

Easy to plug a PC.

Easy to mod for Jamma.

Compatible with every Sega panels you can buy or make.

Easy to unmount and transport, can fit in any car, go through any door.

It's not the most beautiful of them all, sure. And it lacks space inside, that's is very true. But I wouldn't exchange for any other cab, and I've seen a lot of them.
