Hi,
I was looking for a 4 player harness for a Numan Athletics and decided to build my own with options to allow the board to be played on a supergun. I have created an adapter which breaks out the 48 pin edge connector into DB15 and CPS2 connectors

5V is passed through from the 48 pin connector to the DB15 connectors to allow for powered controllers to be used. 48 pin connector is on the reverse side of the DB15 and CPS2 connectors to facilitate connection and wiring

I am currently waiting for the latest revision to arrive from the manufacturer, but here is a 3D render of the board

As with my other projects, this will be released on my GitHub as open source once tested and confirmed working

Yes! very nice! Will you offer it for sale? I'm sure there is a lot of fellows that want to have one.

I received these today and testing has found a bridged connection on the player 4 side between pins 7 and 13 (Down and Button 1)

I believe I have located the issue and fixed it but will need to order another set of test boards

Will check again before ordering the test round of test boards. If I’ve only got the 1 error left I’ll be very happy about that

Edit: Adding photo of the unpopulated board

Thanks for doing this! When I got my Numan Athletics, I was stunned that you can't buy a kick harness anywhere!

I'm lucky that I had a Tekken Tag board that came with the needed adapter and I just added a few wires, but it was still time consuming and annoying .

Thanks!!

The main issue is the edge connector which as far as I can tell was custom made for Namco and very much non existent. Those that appear are Tekken kick harnesses

To make this work I found a generic one - and even that wasn’t the easiest, almost nothing exists in a 48 pin 2.54mm pitch. It then needs to be modified by cutting one side out as the edge on the board is wider than the connector

I’ll provide a link to the edge connectors I found, others may find something different or if you want to use an original I guess that will work too

Quick update:
I have beeped out all connections and everything appears to be where it should be

The bridged connection has been fixed and another round of boards is being ordered. Assuming they test ok that will be the release version and all files will be provided from there

Ok the latest round of test boards arrived yesterday and I beeped it out this morning - no bridges remaining!

I built the board and connected it to Numan Athletics to test, and I am not reading any inputs on the Player 3 side for Left, Down or Button 1 (Button 3 is also now not working after initially testing ok)

Player 4 side is working without any issues whatsoever

It is definitely not a coincidence that Player 3 Left, Down and Button 1 are all right next to each other (Pins A19, A20, A21 and B21) - but the other 3P buttons are also that are working correctly. I am inclined to replace the EMI filter where these come into the board but these are unobtanium so I need to find a replacement

Edit: I just beeped out the EMI filter and that is definitely the fault. Will need to find a replacement but that indicates that the adapter board is probably good to go
