Openkey install help

Hey all,

Working on resurrecting this marvel vs street fighter board.
A board is working, confirmed with my CPS2 multi
B board also working via a set of phoenixed X-Men COTA roms.
Wanted to put this back to stock, so I installed an Openkey
Buuuuut I'm just getting solid color on boot

Board specs-
Model 93646B-3
F PAL
Openkey installed on CN2
No resistor present like mentioned in the openkey docs
Confirmed all solder joints with a meter on my install
Jumped pads 2,5,6,&7

Any ideas what I need to look at?
When I got this the battery was dead so I can't confirm it's a JP region ROM set, but the case was green so that's what I went with for the jumpers.

Okay, well I solved one problem only to fall flat into another one
I copied the data off of ROM 3 and compared that around the mame set to find that in fact this is a Hispanic rom set
No big deal, set the jumpers for the Hispanic version and the game boots!

Buuut now it's playing sound effects as if it was music.
What roms control sound?
Iirc it's 1+2
