I’ve been thinking this over for more than 12 years now and still haven’t decided on what storage method to use for my pcb’s. I’ve considered the following:
1) Carbon-coated corrugated boxes with anti-static foam
2) Standard corrugated boxes w/ anti-static foam
3) Standard corrugated boxes w/ any foam and anti-static bag
One concern I had about storing pcb’s directly in the foam was the possibility of the foam breaking down over time and possible crumbs forming. Has anyone here used anti-static foam for decades who can attest to the integrity/durability of the material over time?
Also, is carbon-coated corrugated overkill for pcb protection at home? In terms of cost difference for my collection, I have about 75 pcb’s.
I appreciate any thoughts, experience, advice or suggestions. Thanks, guys.
