Hi guys,

I've had a talk with NanotechGaming, creator of the Optigun/USB2Gun board. They have agreed to share the gerber files for the board with an open source license. I would have loved to order a bunch and start offering it on this forum but the license is strictly for non commercial use. Any one of you can take these files and use them to order and assemble your own copy on sites like PCBWay.com.

I feel like a lot of development when it comes to lightguns as been focused on getting light guns to work on non-CRTs... it's kind of ridiculous people with gun cabs have even started ripping out their CRTs just so they can get it to work..
I hope with this development we'll see more original lightgun cabs.

Anyway you can find the files here:

https://commondatastorage.googleapis.com/ultracade/990-usb2gun-UCT-00.zip

I'll add some mirrors later on.

Cheers and have a good one,

I been working on building one of these , does anybody have the drivers? I am waiting for some more parts to come in, Windows XP / Window 10 just gives a message about HID Driver and not loading.. But i am guessing its a custom mouse driver.

Nice, did you get anywhere with this?

I made it, but windows wont load the drivers, so i just toss it on the pile of failed projects, i do not know if the person i programmed the chips for got anywhere with it.. windows sees it, and its the right name, but wont load, it is not being seen as a HID device.

I am the guy @hamster programmed the chips for. I finally got around to building one myself and encountered the same error. The device enumerates in Windows 7 & Windows 11 as an HID-Compliant Mouse (and identifies itself as "Cypress UltraCade Light Gun USB Input Device") but Device Manager shows an error "This device cannot start. (Code 10)" and that's where I'm stuck. I'm not sure if it's bad firmware or it needs a special driver that was not in the zip file, or?

I am not familiar with firmware development for Cypress chips. If anyone wants to look into the firmware and help out, I feel like we're close to getting this thing working.

Is @shanki91 still around? (Last seen Jun 16, 2025) Do they have the personal contact details of the ex employee that shared the files in the first place?

@Bard_the_Bowman I have the files. If you pm me a link I can upload them.
