I'm using Rigol DS1052E. It is a budget 50Mhz scope. You can also soft upgrade it to 100Mhz.I'm thinking about picking up an oscilloscope. What kind of spec should I be looking for to do 80s and 90s pcb repair? I don't have a big budget
Yes, 100 Mhz is good enough. Even 50 Mhz scope is OK for arcade/console repair. After all you'll never worry about scientifically accurate measurements. You just want to detect a signal's presence (and shape of it) in arcade repair, not designing the circuit from scratchSo something in the 100Mhz range is good enough? There is a Tektronix 2235 for a 100.00 Canadian on the local CL which I'm looking at and is around more of my budget. Is 2 ch good enough?
