So I have 2 of these panels Blue & Red. Havent decided what to do with them yet, Either keep them and make custom VO panels for my vewlixs or sell 1 or both of them.

Hmmm.....Maybe have Alberto make me some custom vewlix panels, I can probably scan the artwork on these. The joysticks are awesome, virtually new.

Those are so cool, what arcade system do they work with? I got one for the Dreamcast version, but it's not as well built as the arcade ones!

I couldn't even give my panels away. I had a different artwork (still Japanese), but same panel.

@twistedsymphony gave me really solid pricing advice on the sticks themselves though and I sold those with relative ease. Just no one was willing to pay to have the panel shipped with them. And then I couldn't get the panels even given away at that point.

Let me know if you decide to go this route and would sell a set of the joysticks. Would love to have a Virtual On Control Panel for my Chewlix. Have worked with Alberto before when I made a custom Dragon Ball Fighterz Control Panel for my Blast City. He was able to use my design and it came out beautifully. Let me know how I can help.

I can try and work on recreating the artwork for a Vewlix Panel if you would like some help. Still trying to find a great template for the Vewlix Panel but I do believe a DWX template has been uploaded that might work as a starting point.

FrancoB recreated the layouts of the vewlix panels I had sent him. They are uploaded in one his threads. I'll try to get the panels scanned.

I have the artwork scanned. I also paid someone nearly $300 to vectorize it so I could get them re-printed but they did a shit job so I never got them printed.

I'm happy to give you the scans or the vectorized versions so you're not duplicating work.

BUT Sega already makes a candy cab version of this panel... unless you're thinking a vewlix version?

These are twin unit panels, but they wont fit in the USA cabs without trimming some of the metal (the shape of the monitor area is different between USA and JP cabs). There are also English language versions of these panels for the Asian market outside of the Japan, super difficult to find though. I have one and I've been hunting for the matching one for ages.

Because they wont natively fit on USA cabs and because hardly anyone gives two shits about keeping or restoring twin unit cabs the panels are nearly worthless.

as @rewrite said the sticks are the valuable part. and you'll probably get more for the sticks alone then with the panel because people aren't going to want to have to pay to ship the panel.

if you had an original candy panel with the sticks installed you're looking at $400-$450 or so per panel.

These Twin-Unit panels are worth probably $50+ shipping, for the sticks, they're worth at least $100 per stick. maybe more if the grips and spring hats are in really good shape and if you have the harness as well. You definitely need to list them properly though. I've bought a handful of them on eBay over the years cheap because people sold them as "flight stick" without any VOOT specific keywords.

These twin unit panels were also sold in English for the Asian market outside of Japan, I own a red one, I also own a red and blue one in Japanese, though my blue Japanese panel is in really rough shape. I've been searching for ages to find a blue English panel but I've never seen one come up. The only reason I have the red one is because i knew a guy who owned the only one I ever saw and told him I wanted first dibs if he ever sold it.

Cool. Will take a look and see if I can use them.

I would be interested in getting your scans to give it a try. Just a hobbyist when it comes to editing but want to try and design some Vewlix panels for fun so this would be a great start.

I am looking for a pair of Virtual-on sticks for some probably Astros at some point. Might be willing to buy them as a whole to help you get it all out.

Depending on the price shipped to UK, I'd be interested in the panels without the sticks.

I'd be down for that if you and Derick go for it! I would only need the two pairs of sticks :)

Derick, I just won a YAJ bid on an Xbox version of these. I'd like to compare the to the real thing when it gets in, so I'm interested in case you off load them, or at least to get some pictures before you do. Sadly, my sticks won't be here for another 60 days!

Im gonna try to get the artwork scanned if possible. Then I'll decide to trade/sell at least a set. Unless someone wants both sets. But being that the joysticks are pretty mint, I might keep a set.

Thanks, but I meant pics of the sticks themselves, like the underside, model # etc. There is a lot of info on these sticks and the Xbox sticks, but nothing that says exactly how close they are.

No problem, I can take all the pics you want, once I get them out of storage unit. Everything went to storage while renovations are going on at the house.

On thing, I can't see if they have the lower section that bolts onto the frame.
I'd also need that part as they would be fitted to a Japanese cabinet.

There's no rush for me either, just thinking about parts for a future project.

You mean the hinge and the bottom/front of the control panel?

What are you talking about?
I've done tear-downs of the sticks Arcade VOOT sticks: http://solid-orange.com/1229
My friend Lee did a tear-down of the Hori (Xbox 360/PS3) sticks: https://twitter.com/VOTwinstick/status/488167939955113985

Also a comparison I did of the various official arcade sticks: https://www.oratan.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1491

I have all the different revision of the Arcade VOOT and Force Sticks as well as the Candy OMG sticks, the twin unit OMG sticks the Dreamcast Sticks, as well as the generic Sanwa and Semitsu replacements. the only ones I don't have in my possession are the Saturn sticks and the Hori sticks

at some point I plan to do a an in-dept comparison between them all. However I've written numerous posts here about the differences between the sticks here: $800 for a pair of VOOT carts!? and else where on the forum.

in terms of the grip shape the Arcade VOOT/VOF (also used on Outtrigger and Gundam Battle Operation Simulator), Sega Saturn, Dreamcast, Xbox 360 and PS3 all have identical grips in terms of the outisde feel (they're all different internally and incompatible with each other), the rest have different shaped grips, and they all have slightly different mechanical feel to them.

A brief overview from best to worst:
Arcade VOOT/VOF, and Hori (Xbox 360 and PS3) are the best sticks they have a really robust design, they're very accurate they mount properly to an arcade panel and they have the correct grip shape. Hori sticks are black, while the authentic arcade sticks are a charcoal gray color, maybe that matters to you?

The Sanwa and Seimitsu generic replacements are really good sticks in terms of their mechanical design, and they're all designed to mount to a proper arcade Panel but they have different shaped (less ergonomic) grips... so not as authentic but maybe that doesn't matter to you.

The OMG Twin unit sticks are made by HAPP - these things are built like a tank and could survive nuclear fallout, the grips are "authentic" but they're not the same as the VOOT grips, these sticks are ENORMOUS and they WILL NOT fit inside a candy cabinet panel, they're also heavy so they're a little slow to use on faster games like VOOT (I currently use these sticks in my cab and I still own punks though :P)

Dreamcast sticks are made Seimitsu they have the authentic grip shape but they're light gray with orange buttons to match the Dreamcast's color theme. there is no proper mounting plate for a panel and while they're precise sticks they're pretty cheap/flimsy, not arcade quality.

Saturn sticks are made by Ascii and are even more cheap/flimsy and the Dreamcast, they wont hold up to abuse and again, no proper panel mount. These are the cheapest sticks you can buy though and the grip design is correct. They're a little darker than the arcade VOOT sticks but otherwise the closest color match to the real grips

OMG Candy sticks are more robust than the Dreamcast or Saturn sticks but are really total garbage in terms of feel, also has the worst grips of any stick available... these are based on Sanwa JLWs and honestly Sanwa should be ashamed.
