On thing, I can't see if they have the lower section that bolts onto the frame.
I'd also need that part as they would be fitted to a Japanese cabinet.

There's no rush for me either, just thinking about parts for a future project.

You mean the hinge and the bottom/front of the control panel?

Yeah, basically everything that houses the sticks.
So if I wanted to swap out a dash assy on say a Jp sitdown driver it would slot straight in.

Just did a search on the forum and found a picture of a Planet Harriers CP which has the lower section.

The two bolts on both sides line up and it does slot straight in. However, I remember there being an issue with the metal plate below the monitor. It's called the monitor mask holder and it's specific to VO, Planet Harriers and Sega Strike Fighter. The driving games have a different one. I think without it the control panel won't close properly, but I can't remember for certain.

Gotcha, yup, dont have those, just the top sections, hinge, wire harness.

Sega had most Twin-units manufactured locally to their destination, and as a result there are slight difference between JP, USA, and EU cabinets. one of the differences is the shape of the monitor section that interfaces with the control panel. There may even be slight differences between games

so you cannot swap in a panel from one region to another and have it fit properly.. they all look identical in pictures but if you measure them or try to fit them up you'll see they're too large in some places and have gaps in others.

There is a lot of info on these sticks and the Xbox sticks, but nothing that says exactly how close they are.

LOL, you would be hard pressed to beat TS on write ups , I only know one other guy that used to do detailed informative post like T.

I haven't had any problems swapping panels between EU and JP sitdown cabs. I think it's just you guys in the US that have it difficult.

I've got a few Jp and EU cabs, Jp + EU F355 twins/Jp SR2 single/Jp OR2SP/EU Scud Race twin/EU metal frame Daytona/Jp and EU Daytona 2 twins and I mix and match parts on those without any issue. The metal frame the monitor sits on and the dash attaches to has the same dimensions and mounting holes (minus the 2 underneath the dash) on both Jp and EU cabs, I've seen how the US cabs are built of wood and how the monitor sits differently.

The only difference we have come across between EU and Jp cabs is that the build quality of the Jp cabs is superior and there are some slight material/quality differences, for sure the EU cabs are far inferior to Jp cabs but the dinensions and mounting holes are basically the same. I even bought some Chinese OR2 panels from Yaton and they fit EU/JP cabs but one bolt hole out of the 6 is not aligned the same.

I've been on the lookout for a joystick enclosure at a decent price for a while now, I could buy something like a Strike Fighter but I don't really want to kill a cab just for that part if you know what I mean. To be honest I'm just waiting until Yaton lists something of that nature as shipping from China is so much cheaper than anywhere else.

But if I can get one from someone at a decent price I'd go for that as well.
