That's fair, but if we're comparing measurements from the center of the screens the CRT isn't zero at the center in the comparison. That's really my only point, trying to make an apples to apples comparison. This LCD isn't 9ms laggier than the CRT, it's 2ms.This is thrown around a lot. The CRT is shown as “zero lag” because it shows the signal it’s given instantly. That’s true at the top, and the center, and the bottom. Before the beam reaches the bottom of the screen, the signal for the bottom does not yet exist.
I personally think it's better to take measurements from the top, because otherwise it muddies the waters, even if the center somehow feels more 'fair' to how we view things. But whatever you do it should be done equally if we're comparing.
