Lately artwork restorer seems to be more more unwilling to share their work with the community some of them think that their work will be used commercially and they will not benefit from that.
personally i dont care if someone use my work for benefit or not. so i just want to share with you guys an easy way that i think might help a lot of you restoring your arcade artworks for a renovation project given the condition that you will not be too picky about details.
well in short the solution is to use an AI upscaling software, yes i know its not that good but that's what i thought too, but given the nature of most simplistic 90's and 80's artworks
AI upscaling might surprise you at how good it does upscaling.
below is an example of what it can do:
i picked a cadillacs and dinosaurs flyer from flyers.arcade and applied Ai upscaling to it
keep in mind that these uploaded comparison pictures are not as good as the resulted upscaled image due to upload limits
the result is staggering, for those of you who do artwork restore you can use this upscaled image as a base for easier restore since its much cleare
