I hate to do it because I’ve had so many very pleasant experiences on this forum but I’m leaving neutral feedback for @TheCrow

I purchased a CPSIII multi from them which was advertised as working. I specifically requested a clean board with no repairs as the board they had listed had unadvertised repairs made to it.

I paid using PayPal G&S to protect myself since I hadn’t previously purchased anything from this user. When the board arrived, Red Earth/Warzard wouldn’t work. I asked the seller about it and they told me that this was how all of their boards worked. I reached out to another user here who helped me reflash the BIOS on the security cart. After the reflash, Red Earth/Warzard would boot but I then realized that SIMM6 wasn’t working and so I couldn’t load and boot other games. I reached out to the seller to explain and explore options including an exchange or refund and was told that they don’t offer any insurance, however, they did point me to a thread they posted with a board that had a similar issue and required some pretty extensive repairs. PayPal isn’t any help either because the troubleshooting and reflash took more than a month to get sorted and they only step in if I file a complaint within 30 days.

I’m going to keep the board and find someone to help me diagnose and repair but I wanted to leave my feedback here as a warning to anyone else looking to purchase from them.

EDIT: I changed the feedback to positive because @TheCrow reached out and proposed a fair resolution.

This gonna be headache,

1- you you received the board and confirmed that it’s indeed was working.

2- I always flash the chips with 2021 ultra bios and that maybe causes a problem with warzard as I didn’t try older versions of the bios

3- after a month you come to me and and want an exchange or a refund for a board that you received and confirmed that was working minus the warzard problem which is a bios problem not a motherboard problem.

4- i said I’ll give you replacement board after I receive the one I sent you, but you didn’t want that.

5- you said that the simm slot has failed and not the simm it self and I gave you a solution to how you can fix it.

This is old hardware and can fail at anytime.

And on each sale post I make , I always state that every sale is final

Why these things happen to good , great & one of the best friends i have aka @kikaso ? It's not fair ! :(

Anyway CPS3 is a sucks hardware !
Thanks, Alex! It’s okay, I have folks here local to me who can help resolve this problem for me.

Full disclosure, the seller did offer me an exchange but I didn’t trust sending a board to Algeria from the US and then waiting for a replacement to be sent to me. That could take months and I could be out $1,000USD and a broken CPSIII. When I’ve done trades in the past, each participant sends their item at the same time that way there’s an equal commitment.

I do not think that the seller is being dishonest or trying to scam me, I am simply laying out my experience and sharing my feedback related to this transaction. Every buyer and seller on these forums takes on a level of risk when buying and selling.

In that case a Neutral Feedback would be best. We like to keep the negative for people explicitly lying or scamming or just don't giving a damn about your issue. If he tries to help I think that should be changed.

We will try to help you too.

I wouldn't send back to Algeria as well, you will be just throwing money, customs taxes and time away. There is a lot of people both in Europe and US that can help.

The main problem of CPS3 are the slots, rather than the Simms, and they just fail. Maybe during shipment, it got a bit loose or solder got cold. Can you try swapping the simms and see if the error propagates to another simm? If it does, the problem is the simm itself, if not, it's the slot. No sense to send anyone a SIMM that works, but rather get someone with good soldering skills replace that slot. Which simms are you using? Are they Ultrasimms or regular Simms?

I made the change. Thanks for weighing in.

Regular SIMMs. I tried using another known working SIMM and got the same results leading me to believe that it’s the slot. I reflowed the solder and nothing changed.
I’m dropping the board off with Jose Cruz who hasn’t met a CPSIII that he can’t fix.

Thanks for stepping in.
