MITSU Pre-sales open!!: Namco System 1 Multi new batch

We split the parts shipments into two boxes to test shipping from NZ. First box arrived ok with no issues. Second box is now on the way.

Once this box arrives I can finish setting up the pnp machine and do the first 5 units and test. If those units are all good then I can do the rest of the batch almost right away.

The custom connectors I ordered just drop-shipped from the factory to Apocalypse this last week. Once he can ship those to me I will have everything i need. The connectors I akready have are for the main pcb. These connectors are for the flash modules.

We're getting there people

These are the first two pcbs run through the pnp machine. I made a lot of orientation and placement height corrections but overall the machine handled the 0402 sized components like a champ. Im super happy it went so relatively smooth for it being the first time I've used such tiny components in this machine.

These pcbs are almost the maximum size our production oven we bought can fit. It is only 2mm on one side from the maximum. The other side of the pcb exceeds the max size so we can only feed this pcb into the oven in one direction. Pretty crazy.

Embarrassingly I ran out of solder this weekend so that delays me a few days until I can solder all of the pins and test functionality. Once everything tests good ill finish these first 5 units and ship them. Ill order the rest of the blanks pcbs for the rest of the batch. Ill also be ordering more flashes which was not unexpected since we use these same flashes for almost every multi so we use A LOT. ;)

This is great news. It means all parts ordered were correct and working. While ill be fine-tuning certain component placements for several pcbs to get it as close to perfect as possible, all orientations are correct now.

So now we know everything is ok I will order the remaining pcb blanks and the dipswitch banks I forgot to order.

When Darksoft sold his batch he sold them with a remote Dip pcb and cable. The dip pcb can also plug directly into the pcb if you dont want to use the cable. The pcb itself has a footprint yo solder the dips but Darksoft did not include a dip bank on the multi board. Only on the remote pcb. So when it is your turn for me to ship your multi if you want the remote pcb or dips soldered directly to your multi. You could also have both but you would need to pay a small $5 fee for the additional dip switch bank.

Here's an update for you guys. I have been buying what I think is good shipping boxes etc to handle shipping of this multi as it has a ton of pins that can get bent or broken accidentally. All of that came in and I was ready to ship the first four units but in final testing I found some minor gfx pixel flashing. After some comparisons we found that the flashes we used for Sprites and Char seem just a bit too slow. So I am ordering new flashes to replace those two modules on each multi. The flashes we already have work perfectly fine for the other modules so no meed to replace everything, thank god.

As for the other presale units the flashes have been ordered and im just waiting for shipment. In the meantime I will assemble the main multi pcbs so hopefully all that is needed once flashes arrive is assemble of the flash modules and final testing.

I believe there will be very few extra.
I am also interested x1.
