I’m writing this in good faith. I’m inquiring if anyone has heard from Alberto / Y. T

I purchased a couple of panels via PayPal last month. Some delays, then the last I heard from them was June 4th claiming I’ll get an update by the 5th. Today is the 19th so I’m asking if anyone else has heard back.

This is not me being hostile. I was in an accident recently so I 10000% can understand sudden gaps in communication.

Thanks all

EDIT: Alberto got back to me. Please consider this resolved. 👍

It took a while to get my panels as well, but when I message him about it he replied quickly and clearly. Eventually got my panels and they were superb.

I know this is resolved but just wanted to add another piece of positive feedback from recent experience - I just received my panel yesterday having ordered approx 4 weeks prior and I was floored by the quality. First time ordering from him and definitely will be buying again in the future. Amazing stuff.

Lucky you, I enquired in March paid 2 months ago and still havent even seen the artwork. last comms was over a month ago. I dont mind waiting but once paid id expect some level of communication.

think yourself lucky

I'm also still waiting for my panels. Alberto's last mentioned his colleague in the print shop was off for a month due to a car accident causing the delay.

I hope he recovers well. And fingers crossed we get an ETA soon.

Alright I'm documenting a bit of the communication. I can paste the full back and forth here if necessary.

These were the missed ETAs:

Then after PMs met with radio silence, it became early July with reason:

Now I'm getting radio silence again. I sent two more PMs and have gotten no response.

I don't doubt these panels are high quality, but the radio silence is not great.

Has anyone else heard from Alberto1225 / Y.T ?

EDIT: Ok... Alberto got back to me via email. Two more weeks. 🤞

It took me about 2 years to get some very niche stuff over the line after quite a few ETAs that came and went.

Best advice I can give anyone is that until it's shipped.... any ETA has to be assumed to be an ever evolving thing.
I'm ok with the missed ETAs. I even prefaced this at the start with understanding it. The pattern of being unresponsive for weeks at a time after each missed ETA ends up appearing negligent.

I'm not in a rush. And I know this is a niche hobby.

But at the end of the day: I didn't propose any of the now five missed ETAs nor did I urge him to "check with the print shop and let me know", and then proceed to not let me know. The communication effort has lost my confidence.

Nonetheless, I'm still waiting for my panels. At an eventual point I'll have to dispute the payment on PayPal. But I'm staying patient for now.

The missed deadlines are normal. Alberto is a busy person, and this is, like you said a niche product. Just keep on him and he'll eventually get it to you.

When dealing with this type of hobby service, you gotta remember to not treat it like amazon. these things take time, and most of the time these vendors are doing this as a side-hustle.

Yes of course, this type of item takes time.
I want to emphasize this is about negligence of communication. I started this thread because of that.

@coll83 and @bradyscribbles shared the same sentiment in this thread earlier.

My dissatisfaction earlier today particularly came from misleading communication. If I’m told, “I’ll check the print shop and let you know”, and then weeks go by without that follow up… it’s not a great feeling.

I hope I’m coming across as reasonable here.

Nonetheless, yes, I’ll continue to wait.

I have had a similarly poor communication experience with another member of this forum. I stopped doing business with them (despite being of the opinion they're still a good seller.)

Communication failures are a problem, in my opinion, and one I'm personally not OK with hand-waving. If I'm slingin' someone hundreds of dollars (or more,) I expect a bit of regular communication. Like several others here, I'm not usually in a rush- the sellers set the expectations with regards to deadlines and I'm cool with that because it's a niche hobby. I just want to be kept in the know- especially since, as pointed out, this isn't Amazon. I don't have any explicit protections as a buyer if the situation turns sour. I don't have any means of easily and passively checking the status of the thing I bought in order to manage my expectations.

When I'm told to expect a message in a week and don't get it? No problem, accidents happen, I forget things myself. But when- after that- the seller continues to push deadlines that they fail to meet? That's not cool. It takes only seconds to pop in and write a message updating someone to the situation. Moreover, it's easy to avoid painting yourself into a corner by simply being open about timelines and managing communication expectations "This could take up to x weeks- so if you haven't heard from me by then go ahead and reach back out to me." That sentence leaves the timeline wide open, and lays the onus for communication on the buyer- asking them to reach out, rather than telling them to expect a message that may never come. That's an update where I, as a buyer, can go "Alright, no problem," and check out mentally until however long. Especially if the buyer has good feedback here, which helps to assuage concerns about being taken for a run.

I don't sell often- it definitely is not a side-hustle for me. But when I do, I make sure communication is a priority so the buyer feels reassured and confident with their purchase. For instance, when I couldn't make a drop off (that I had clearly identified was only a possibility) I reached out with a simple message letting the buyer know I didn't hit the first window and would instead be sending it out the following day. I didn't have to, but I knew it would be nice to know, and it was an update in general about their purchase. I also didn't fail to message them when I said I would, in general. I don't buy the whole "I'm too busy to login and spend 1 minute and 27 seconds messaging a buyer to update them."

I ordered an Ok Baby panel from him, and received the sample panel a couple weeks ago after waiting for a while. He will get back to you, he's just a really busy guy. I get it though I thought he had forgotten about me too but he didn't. That's on me.

To add to this I paid for my panel over 4 months ago!! I have to chase chase chase, I give weeks at a time but for me once ive paid for something I expect a level of service. I run multiple business's before I get backlash of being busy..
My last communication was 2 weeks ago that the person in the print shop was in an accident so delays. I would get an ETA in a weeks time and we are now approcahing week 3. My dealings have always been good but this ones off the chart, Im at the point where I have wrote off ever getting the panel and said fairwell to the £100.00.

@coll83 I got a reply back 1 week ago. Alberto advised he needed 2 more weeks.

Assume it’ll be missed as well. I’ll check in again next month.
