Hi guys,
In my pile of broken and unknown PCB's . I found a bootleg Raiden. Suprisingly it works ! There is however one eeprom which has been abused. I think it is the rom which stores the background graphics because when I wiggle it a bit I get no background image.

So I would like to make a new rom chip to replace the very dodgy one: It is a 27C512-25. I see extreme price differences what are the best to buy and where (in europe preferably). Which type of rom burner do I need to get (preferably one I can use for other projects in the future.
It seems I have a Korean bootleg I assume it is this one:
https://www.planetemu.net/rom/mame-roms/raidenkb
I count 22 eproms on my bootleg Motherboard however i see only 14 files in the rom file. How do I discover wich on is the correct one ?

Thanks in advance for your tips!

  • to know which one you have: you dump a rom and your rom ident it
  • cheap burner to see if you like it: the "TL866II Plus"
  • You'll also need a "eprom uv eraser"
both of "these" can be found on ali express.

Have you seen the picture of the eprom? think if I remove it, I will brake it .
Thanks for the hardware tips will check out

This bootleg is very common, i'm sure it's dumped??
Anyways= I'm sure it can be figured out by dumping the other 3 and looking how the data is split.

Small update to this thread I finally got around to ordering a Xgecu T48. Well removal of the chip didn't go down to well. I should have listened to @biggestsonicfan and desolder the socket.

So I start reading out the still fine EPROMS and the yellow ones are the ones that matched. However all the others are soldered on the board.
I could just burn 4,5,6 and 8 and see which one is missing? Or anybody has any better ideas?
