Hello, I received my very own F model in august and now I'm sick of the loud fan monitors. From what I've understood the monitor is not an F original since it has 2 fans instead of 1, and when I disconnected them I found that they're both marked 24 V. My question is, can I replace them with 12 V fans or will the monitor still display the "check fans" error message? The monitor is otherwise in a good shape and I'm not in a rush to upgrade it, so if the loud fans problem could be relieved that would be awesome.

You're confusing cabinet fans with the monitor fans. The original Sanwa monitor in a F came with two fans, two exhausts on one side.

You cannot just replace them with 12V fans or even 2-pin 24V ones. They need to be 3-pin 24V with a compatible tachometer signal (this is important, not all signals are alike).

Someone installed an inline resistor to lower the voltage and subsequently lower the RPM. That's a cheap trick you can do. See below:

Alternatively, try to find a compatible 3-pin 24V replacement fan.
