I had my setup up and running for awhile, but today I both couldn't get my Rhythm Tengoku cartridge to boot up (which is a separate issuer) and over netboot I'm having a different problem:

At certain moments in the game my board power cycles and reboots. It happens in particular when I'm trying to start a 2 player game in the minigame selection menu (but not when starting a 1 player game. I have a feeling it somehow has to do with the connections that go the main 60 pin connector (it seems to happen less frequently when I disconnect the pins that go to pin 51 through 56 on the main I/O connector). When I switch to a regular panel it also doesn't seem to happen.

Find it hard to pinpoint what exactly is going on. When I go to the test menu and check all the inputs and outputs (switches and lights) everything seems to work fine and the board does not reset. Is there a common thing that causes a naomi board to power cycle? Could something shorting out be the issue?

Any help or insight is highly appreciated, I'm starting to get clueless.

Oh that would make sense, thanks! Looks like the lights inside the buttons are rated at 3W each, so when they all power on that's 42W. Going to see if it stops happening when I power the naomi from a separate PSU. If that's the culprit I'll see if I can swap them over to LED

I ran into a similar problem building my panel. Too many traditional bulbs would overload the PSU and crash the NAOMI. Swapping to LEDs solved the issue entirely.

That sounds hopeful! Do you happen to remember what you replaced them with? Looks like they are just T10/194/168 automotive wedge fit bulbs, right?

It may depend on the buttons you bought, my old receipt is for "CLEAR FLAT TOP # 161 12 VOLT LED WEDGE [BULB]"
