The biggest benefit to me was backing up all my game saves to SD card (then PC) and back.

(Cafe Alpha sold it for 60 euros + shipping (15 euros to the US or 17.35 to the EU), but it was discontinued a bit more than a year ago)

Note that this is with base shipping, no tracking as it literally triples the shipping cost, so I would not recommend it.
