A Japanese friend of mine helped me purchase a pair of Sticks, and as a birthday gift, he sent me another pair so I could mod both and make a proper LAN party as I always wanted to.
One of the sticks, outside of smaller details, seems perfectly fine, white and all
The other is... desperate
Everything seemed that was basically rotting, the restrictors just literally snapped off out of usage, there is rust EVERYWHERE (And INSANE levels of it, LOOK AT THE BACK PLATE IS BASICALLY A MOUNTAIN JESUS).
I was either way going to mod them with extra buttons (The Center one and what not, maybe even remove the plates and put them somewhere else and use the cases for other projects, also custom art).
But I wanted general help...
Is it a good idea to continue using these metal plates or should I just reproduce anything? I can't remove the restrictors out of the metal plate (Is there a way to do so? It's extremely tight and I don't see screws anywhere) and as you can see, one of them already just broke, and the other seems to be in progress of that too, the joysticks seem ok, but nothing too bad.
Or should I try to remove the rust? If so, how? I have never done something like this before.
The general plan was to install a Brook UFB (I mainly play VON on 360, but for other kinds of games and what not) and try to recycle the Saturn PCBs by either a switch that swaps them or see if I could use them in something else.
