I have 2x Sega System 18 PCBs that I would like to find a new home for.
One (originally Shadow Dancer, 2 oscillator version) is untested as I picked it up in a trade and it has had some surface mounts scavenged (before me) and one oscillator, this would be a good parts board IMO.
Second one I got in a trade, is original Moonwalker (3 oscillator) version. PCB was pretty dirty. I gave it a bath, replaced 2 caps, one socket and started looking for problems.
I found 2 bad traces, repaired both, still wont boot. This one looks to be fully intact but is being sold as tested, not-working.
My next thought was to transplant two surface mounted chips and oscillator taken from moonwalker onto board number one (Shadow Dancer) and see if I get any life, but have aborted that thought.
I sent a note to Ken at irepairsega and he told me that he doesn't accept these for repair, so I figure I want to get it in the right hands that may be able to get it going with these two boards making on single working board, ready for the muli.
